Michigan gaming control board announces member reappointment

(AsiaGameHub) –   Governor Gretchen Whitmer has reappointed Mark Evenson for an additional term.

U.S.- The Michigan Gaming Control Board (MGCB) has announced that Governor Gretchen Whitmer has reappointed Mark Evenson, of South Lyon, to its board for a new term spanning January 1, 2027, to December 31, 2030. First appointed in September 2024, Evenson will continue serving as a board member alongside Deidre Lambert-Bounds, Andrew T. Palms, Joni M. Thrower Davis and board chair Jim Ananich.

This reappointment is subject to the advice and consent of the Michigan Senate. The board is made up of five Michigan residents appointed by the governor. Under the Michigan Gaming Control & Revenue Act, no more than three members may belong to the same political party. A minimum of three members must be present at meetings to form a quorum.

Evenson currently serves as the chief financial officer of Diversified Members Credit Union. Previously, he held the role of chief financial officer at Cornerstone Community Financial. He has served as a board member of the Plymouth Chamber of Commerce and vice chair of the Novi Educational Foundation Board.

The MGCB recently announced the launch of an updated website to coincide with Problem Gambling Awareness Month. The updated Don’t Regret the Bet site features additional tools, educational content, and support resources.

Michigan igaming and sports betting revenue sees year-over-year growth in February

Michigan commercial and tribal operators reported $313 million in combined online gaming and online sports betting gross receipts in February. This marks a 16.6 percent year-over-year increase and a 12.2 percent decrease from January 2026.

Igaming gross receipts totaled $273.1 million, while online sports betting gross receipts came to $39.9 million. The online sports betting handle was $384.7 million, down 21.7 percent from January.
